June 1st is Children's Day in Moldova

June 1st is Children's Day in Moldova and all children are celebrated. It is a big holiday. Bigger than Christmas in some villages.

The Chisinau Relief Society ladies and some of the Young Single Adults made cookies for us to distribute on Children's Day

First we went to Hincesti ...

where 66 people (23 children) are living in some dormatories because they lost everything they had in a flood and are waiting for their new homes to be completed. The children from the flood loved the cookies!

The children of all ages celebrate Children's Day

I shared a box of candy with them too

The Morristown Relief Society in New York sent the most darling stuffed toys to share with the children. They loved them! I told them they could pick their favorite ONE but when they took 2 or 3 I didn't know how to take them back so they only had one. They have lost all their toys in the flood and they really really loved these little toys so...they got more than just 1.

I hope the Morristown sisters see these photos so they can have a glimpse of how wonderful these gifts are to these children
Big brother made sure his little sister got a toy before he chose one

This little guy had a tough time deciding to eat the cookies or play with his toy

Had some great laughs with Eugenia. She got some toys and goodies for grandchildren

Eugenia said I was sent from God to them. I chuckled, pointed to my name tag, and said, "Yes was sent from God just to help them!" We had lots of hugs before I left.
