Delivered: 1 step machine & 30 wheelchairs

Is it going to fit into our little car? Tom said no. I said we at least have to try.

"I" was right...it fit! Well...we had to leave the hatch open for 1.2 hours with the bell dinging...but it fit!

The dirt roads swirled dust throughout the car because the hatch was open. But who cares...because I was right about fitting it into the car! We unloaded a very dusty step machine for the Vasieni community building.
It was easy to carry to the community center room.
It works great! Vera from Chisinau Branch donated the step machine and the Vasieni people are glad she did. Thanks Vera!!
Drove from Vasieni to Telenesti Raion center to deliver 30 wheelchairs and some canes, walkers, and crutches.
Mihail (in wheelchair) giving a speech of appreciation for us donating wheelchairs. The large man next to him is the assistant Raion president. He spoke also. Mostly thanking LDS Charities for helping their people.

The Director for Social Assitance spoke also.

Then Tom began helping to give the wheelchairs to the people who needed them and to their families to take home to their home bound family members.

It was a beautiful sunny summer day and we distributed the chairs right on the steps of the Raion center building.

This mother practiced saying "thank you" in English and Tom responded with "Pashaulsta" -Russian for "you're welcome". They all got a great chuckle from it all.

Katea's aunt came to pick up the wheelchair for her next door neighbor.

We had a great meeting with refreshments after the distribution. The group asked about our projects. They said they just got approval to open a soup kitchen and want to know if we will help them. We told them that when they are ready to begin to contact Katea and she will contact the missionaries that replace us in September to propose the project. I was so excited to help them start their soup kitchen from the ground up until I realized that we can't start any more projects before we leave to go home. Made me sad all over again about leaving this great country.
